In the printing industry, requirements for an effective
limit of material migration between packaging material and
filling good are nothing fundamentally new. Especially
materials and articles that are in direct or indirect contact
to foodstuffs, are affected. Thus, a binding, specified limit
for the total migration of 10 mg/dm² or converted 60 mg/kg
filling (60 ppm) was already defined in the Commodities
Ordinance (Bedarfsgegenständeverordung (BGV, 1997)).
Up to the present day, a series of ordinances have
referred to this limit. Furthermore, additional requirements
in the form of specific migration limits (limits for
individual material migration) are formulated here.
Ultimately, the packaging material as a whole and its
components have to fulfill the required limits for total
migration and specific migration. This also includes
coatings.
The ACTEGA Terra water based coatings already
satisfy
the above mentioned requirements. Also in the area of UV
coatings, innovative products have been developed: the
TERRAGLOSS UV Special Coating G 8/155, the TERRAGLOSS UV
Special Coating G 8/242 and the TERRAGLOSS UV Special Coating
G 8/282. More
