High gloss pictures on a matt substrate - a demand that is made on many jobs in commercial printing. Achieving this effect with just one coating unit and without the use of primers, however, presents a challenge.

The solution is a coating that can do both. With the waterbased TerraEffekt matt & gloss G 9/707 areas with high colour coverage become particularly glossy. On unprinted areas, in contrast, the coating makes the surface matt.

The advantages of matt & gloss are obvious. In just one process you achieve pleasant matt and gloss effects - and this with just one coating unit and a single coating. You varnish the full area, no coating plate is necessary for spot coating. The brilliance of your printing inks is increased whilst the substrate is, in contrast, matt.

Your benefit: You produce with the latest state of the art coating. By means of this, you set trends in the market. You realise impressive printing products that will convince your customers.

Everything depends on the right accentuation. By means of stressing single elements within a printed area, the awareness of the viewer is lead to the most important parts. The more an element stands out from its setting, the more attention it gains.

With the TerraGloss UV Spot Coating G 8/292 NVK you put your printing motive into the right light. As a UV coating especially developed for spot coating, it shows an excellent high edge definition together with a very high gloss. The coating is highly reactive and allows the presentation of fine lines.

The coating can be applied out of the coating unit in sheet-fed offset or via offline coating. A raised appearance to the finished print is given, if the coating is applied by a corresponding high-volume anilox roller.

Your benefit: You produce high-value finished printing products that stand out. Besides, the stable technical characteristics of the coating provide high safety for your production processes.

Already in April, we have informed you about our new product line TerraGreen. This line stands for coatings based on renewable resources, namely for the increasing environmental awareness of our time.

However, we have news that merits another article in our newsletter. An analysis by the accredited analysis institute Wessling has shown, that the TerraGreen Gloss Coating G 5/200, first product of our new line, is biodegradable by more than 75%.

That means for you: After having talked to your local water authority, you could dispose coating remains and wash water directly in a clarification plant. Disposing as wastage is not necessary any more (please consider existing law in your country).

And this is not all. Apart from our TerraGreen Gloss Coating G 5/200 we now also offer a silky matt version: the TerraGreen Matt Coating G 5/100 silky matt.
