Environmental and climate protection in focus
Environmental protection is a central business objective for ACTEGA Terra. We act upon the principle of preventative environmental protection and the protection of resources. Already in 2001, ACTEGA Terra introduced a certified environmental management system. This certification, according to DIN EN ISO 14001, will be continued and continuously advanced.

Concrete measures
ACTEGA Terra undertakes a variety of concrete measures in order to protect the environment and climate, for example:

• Use of machines with economic engines
• An internal cycle of materials that makes use of water in a recycled way
• Withdrawal of sales packaging and systematic reuse
• Insulation of buildings for a better heat damping

Innovative coatings that protect the environment
Being an innovative organisation with focus on coating development and technical services, sustainability is also incorporated into research & development. ACTEGA Terra was the first company to develop coatings based on renewable resources for the printing industry. In their resource base, these coatings are independent of petroleum derivates. They prevent the use of non-renewable resources and are comparatively climate-neutral.

Climate protection as a commitment for the future
ACTEGA Terra has committed itself to defined objectives for climate protection and wants, based on year 2007, to reduce the specific CO₂ emission by 30% until 2020. A variety of measures, as for example the increase of energy efficiency, the use of less CO₂ emitted thermic energy and electricity, are currently being checked and implemented.
