TerraGloss® UV Coatings
UV coatings, as the name implies, are coatings that cure under ultraviolet radiation. This means that „drying“ in the classical sense does not occur. UV coatings cure through a chemical reaction, a polymerization. During the radiation with UV energy the photoinitiators become highly reactive particles. These highlyreactive particles crosslink the acrylates so that a plastic film is formed in milliseconds.
UV coatings offer many advantages: a high degree of finishing, high scratch and scuff resistance, high chemical resistance, instant drying and a very good suitability for non-absorbent substrates.
TerraGloss UV coatings are based on carefully selected and tested raw materials. So-called reactive acrylates (resins, oligomers and monomers) are responsible for the development of the coating film. Further components are high-quality photoinitiators and additives. The additives take over the fine alignment (e.g. flowout and slip) of the UV coatings.
The amount of solids is almost 100%. TerraGloss UV coatings do not include water or solvents, and therefore almost no volatile substances. They convince by their consistent utilization of exclusively high-quality raw materials, advanced formulations and a trouble-free processing, in particular in the inline process. They are of consistent high quality, and low in odour and migration. For many coatings, ACTEGA Terra dispenses with monomers.
Their wide and secure application spectrum offers an optimal solution in many cases. Additionally we are able to carry out individual adaptations to the coating formulation, so that you obtain exactly the right UV coating fulfilling your individual technical requirements. The product program is completed by an extensive service offer considering the UV coating, for example through curing controls according to FTIR analysis.
