Coatings for non-absorbent substrates

TerraWet waterbased coatings for non-absorbant surfaces fulfill very special requirements depending on the substrate. Highest brilliance and attention is achieved in the premium segment with foil laminated and metallized substrates - supported by a coating that allows the printed product to unfold its full properties.

TerraWet waterbased coatings are characterized by outstanding transparency. The metallic effect is influenced as little as possible by the coating. Especially with regard to these metallic effects, scratches become obvious very easily. Therefore, the coating provides an optimal scratch and scuff resistance.

In particular segments, PE-coated board fullfills necessary barrier properties. Due to the PE-coat, inks cannot penetrate into the substrate, drying is slowed down. Special TerraWet waterbased coatings enable the inks to oxidatively dry through the coating layer. Like this and by means of the extremely fast drying of the coating itself, further processing is speeded up. Also, coatings have a low tendency towards cracking and show an excellent block resistance as well as a very good scratch and scuff resistance.
