Label coatings

Labels must fulfill a great variety of requirements and are often very specialized and innovative printed products. In the beverage industry for example, very different requirements are placed on the label depending on the end use - such as non-alcoholic drinks, beer, sparkling wine, wine or spirits.

TerraWet provides a broad portfolio of waterbased coatings for label printing. For coated paper and non-absorbent substrates, such as cast-coated paper, metallized paper and plastic foils (inmould label), coatings are available in high gloss, gloss and matt.

The excellent transparency of these coatings is of special importance. The brilliance of the metallized paper is reduced as little as possible. Selected label coatings fulfill various functional demands, such as barrier properties, heat resistance or adjusted slip angles.

TerraWet label coatings are particularly wet block resistant and wet scuff resistant. A special advantage is the low tendency to curling. By means of their antistatic properties, labels can be separated easily. The coating's good slip characteristics guarantee a smooth labelling process.
