Matt/Gloss systems
The principle: In the last ink duct an oil based primer is employed
partially. From the coating unit a high gloss coating is applied
over the entire surface. Where primer and high gloss coating
meet, matt or reticulated (according to formulation) effects are
the result. At areas where the primer was left out you receive
a high gloss surface. Very fine structures and even vignettes
can be achieved with a very high register precision. TerraEffekt
offers matt/gloss systems both with waterbased coatings and
with UV coatings, in each case combined with selected oil based
primers.
The innovative alternative in the area of matt/gloss systems is
matt & gloss. With this waterbased coating, which is applied
from the coating unit after printing, significant gloss differences
can be achieved. On unprinted areas and areas with low ink
placement the surface becomes matt. On areas with high ink
placement the coating supports the brilliance of the color and
achieves glossy surfaces. Brochures printed on gloss coated illustration
printing paper for example realize glossy pictures and a
pleasant matt surface in the text areas. With just one coating.
