Label coatings

Labels must fulfill a great number of demands and are often very specialized and innovative printed products. In the drinks segment alone, the most varied demands are placed on the label according to final application - non-alcoholic drinks, beer, sparkling wine, wine or spirits.

TerraWet has a wide portfolio of waterbased coatings for label printing. For coated paper, as well as for non-absorbent substrates, such as cast-coated paper, metallized paper and plastic films (inmould label), coatings have been developed in the required degrees of high gloss, gloss and matt.

Of special importance is the excellent transparency of these coatings. The brilliance of metallized paper is decreased as little as possible.

Selected label coatings fulfill various functional demands, such as barrier properties, heat resistance or adjusted slip angles.

TerraWet label coatings are particularly wet block resistant and wet scuff resistant. A special advantage is their low tendency to curling. As a result of their antistatic properties, they can be separated very well. Their good slip characteristic guarantees a smooth labelling.
