NEW FOODCLASS® DRIP OFF
We already presented our new FoodClass® product line to you in February. These are UV coatings that can be applied in indirect contact with dry and fatty foods without the use of a functional barrier.
FoodClass uses high molecular photoinitiators, which have a lower migration potential in the cured coating film compared to low molecular substances. However, at FoodClass we do not limit ourselves to this consideration, but also carry out an evaluation for all other components of the coating, i.e. binders, monomers and additives. In FoodClass coatings, we therefore only use raw materials that can be easily incorporated into the coating and are therefore low-migration and suitable for food packaging.
For the finishing of the May design, printing with conventional ink was followed by full-surface application of the water-based FoodSafe matt coating. In a second pass, the FoodClass Drip Off Primer was partially applied from the last inking unit (broccoli florets). This was followed by partial application of our FoodClass Gloss Varnish from the coating unit for a Drip Off effect over the broccoli and miniatures.
The result: a motif with three layers - lightly textured florets of a glossy broccoli on a matte surface.
