Vigo, Spain, September 10, 2019 - ACTEGA Artística was awarded the first Platinum Level Material Health Certificate by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, granted to the Artística RB 1006 Z3 sealant for beverage cans after assessment against the criteria of the Material Health category in the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard.
The highest-range Platinum Level certificate is awarded to products fulfilling the strictest requirements of the Material Health category of the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product standards. The Material Health Category helps to ensure products are made using chemicals that are as safe as possible for humans and the environment.
The Certificate is a proof of the innovation capability of ACTEGA Artística and its capacity of response and anticipation to the most demanding requirements of the beverage packaging sector. Increasing global sustainability trends reinforce the longtime commitment of ACTEGA Artística, a manufacturer of water-based sealants for metal packaging founded back in 1906.
Since the introduction of its first water-based sealant for beverage cans in 2003, taking the strategic choice to formulate it based on natural latex, the constant growth is the proof that this groundbreaking decision was right. Its position on the market is the confirmation of a clear ACTEGA Artística leadership in sealant solutions for beverage packaging.
Water-based Sealants have an additional impact on the sustainability of metal cans, as the 100% recyclable packaging. Therefore, ACTEGA Artística is also engaged in new sustainable initiatives of conversion from solvent-based to water-based sealant operations.
