SOLAR ENERGY AT ACTEGA

This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with the aim of promoting a more clean and sustainable economy.

ACTEGA invests in climate-friendly solar energy at its site in Spain

Renewable energies are the key to effective climate protection. ACTEGA responded to this at its Vigo site in Spain as early as 2016. Since then, the company has relied entirely on electrical energy from certified renewable sources.

However, so far electricity was provided by the public power supply system. This generated the request for an even more sustainable solution.

184 PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES

To meet this request, ACTEGA has now invested in 184 photovoltaic modules with cells made of monocrystalline silicon. This will allow 140,000 kWh of electricity to be produced annually for the company's own consumption, which is equivalent to about one-tenth of the company's total electricity demand for the year 2022.

A concept that is convincing. Solar energy is not only energy-rich, but also clean, safe and inexhaustible. Since it does not release environmentally harmful emissions or hazardous radiation to any significant extent, solar energy is the right choice for reducing the carbon footprint.

Besides the clear operational advantages, this investment has real strategic value and shows our unconditional commitment towards a sustainable future.

Teresa Ramos Managing Director at ACTEGA Artística, Spain

The installation of solar panels is totally in line with the ambitious sustainability course of the entire ALTANA Group, which has set itself the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2025.

In addition, ACTEGA realizes many other advantages. The photovoltaic modules generate electricity exactly where it is needed. Public power supply systems can be relieved, the dependance on external energy sources is reduced. Energy losses that occur when transporting energy over long distances are avoided.
