Bearded vulture
Bearded vultures like to fly alone or in pairs. They feel at home in landscapes with large differences in altitude and build their nests in rocky niches. These animals generally have a large range, but their population is declining. After being completely eradicated in some regions in the past due to their — unjustified — bad reputation, bearded vultures are now exposed to other threats as scavengers. These include habitat loss, but also poison baits that are used to hunt their prey.
